Are the Internet and Social Media Making Us Happier? Anthony Silard's Upcoming Interviews with Voice of America and Radio Disney

Do you think that computers, the internet and social media are contributing to our happiness?

I'll be recording interviews with Voice of America on Monday and Radio Disney on Tuesday on this subject. Please share how you feel about this question with me and our community. If you can, please provide a concrete example or two of how technology is making you either happier, more miserable, or both.

  1. It is hard to imagine a world where the answer to so many questions was not just a click away... is it making us happier? Being constantly connected can be exhausting. Like everything else in life, balance is the key.

  2. Never in a million years did I think I would have an iPhone, an iPad and a Macbook. Always connected, never turned off, email and texts coming at all times of the day and night. Car, plane, office, home, restaurants. Do I have to visit the doctor to "permit" myself to turn it off?

Being connected allows us to share, learn, think, grow, but does it really make us happy? Disciplining myself to turn it off periodically is what really makes me happy.
